Well I just bought an HD 4650 so we will se how it goes...
Not confident as Stutter shows up in the same places on a recorded/ timeshifted prog as it did in live TV., and my 1080p play lovely

But you never know...I have only got a 7150GPU right now. I have played with Nvidia for ages so it is time for a change. Hoping the ATi isnt too loud though; my antec is loud enough as it is! (I chose the 4650 as it is reasonably efficient..do the ATi drivers control the fan speed?)

Im away for a week, now. Ill post how it goes.

Regarding the DVBlink, yes it is pay software. . If I can sort the HD out, it is well worth the 30 quid IMO .The integration of the DVB-C channels into Media centre is Fantastic and hasnt crashed once.

Hello, I'm running a similar setup for a few days now. Win7 RC,DVBDream and DVBLink. I am a bit stumped with a few things though.

With some of the channels, there is no sound but if I choose second sound channel with the WMC remote (the option for the visually impaired) I get sound. But the media center does not remember my choice and I have to go through the same maneuver next time I tune to that channel. The odd thing is in DVBDream the sound is ok. So, Is the DVBLink causing trouble?

How can I update the DVBDream channels? If I rescan, I always end up with hundreds of nameless channels and it takes me ages to rename/delete them as I have to see each channel to do that. As there are some new HD channels now, I guess I will have to rescan, but I was wondering if there is an easier way.

By the way, with regards to choppy HD pictures/Sounds, I think it is a DVBLink issue. Because the original DVB software i.e. DVBDream, DVB viewer etc shows the channels flawlessly. So my assumption is there must be some bug in DVBLink which is causing corruption of HD data when it is being fed to media center program. Not sure though.

So far I am impressed with Win 7 and WMC. Just wish the movie browser and the start menu strip were more customizable and would auto update all the metadata.

Don't hold me to it but I think I saw it in a few forums that you will need to make multiple purchases.

Hello mate,

Join the dvblink forums there are several threads there about this the more people put some pressure on then the quicker I'm sure it will get fixed.

I'm running a DM800 and 2x TBS 8920 under DVBViewer all hooked into 7MC 7260 32bit via the latest DVBLink 1.1 using DVBViewer 4.2.1 I get corruption on HD channels via the DM800 and DVBViewer so it's not DVBViewer.

A thread on there from so guy testing says his system runs fine with DVBSBridge, the product before DVBLink that emulated a DVB-T card and therefore limited you to only 160 channels. If you can test and don't need more than 160 channels you could try DVBSBridge to see if it fixes your HD issues......

Cheers

After the fuss this topic has raised, i decided to take one of my card's and have a go at this myself.

I agree, setup was very easy (im missing a few channels, but im sure a rescan will fix that)

The only downside I can see with this, is the amount of time it takes to change channel, and the random parts where (atleast 7MC) thinks a tuner is in use.... when it isnt, or just dosnt want to receive a signal on the channel (maybe a DVBViewer)

However for the people that want a very cheap option, id deffinately recommend it
