virgin media upto 10mb problem

hi all

i have been upgraded to the up to 10mb internet and the first 2days i have managed to get speeds of 1200kb and now i dont seem to get that speed anymore and its not even going over 150kb

can someone tell me how to sort out the speeds.

Hi if you go on to virgins home page type in slow broadband it will direct you to a help page were it will tell what to try to make sure your pc is set up correct and a few programs to use to get the most out of there service if it still show no increase contact them they can test the line over the phone. Also when you upgraded have you unplug your modem for a few sec's then plug it back in see if it's made a difference. They do cap speeds between about 15.30 to 22.00 hrs hours may be a bit out. let us know how you get on waht area do you live .

also how are you testing your connection?? speed testers arnt accurate a newsserver would be a better test and virgin have a free one again on there website

when i phoned them up a while ago they told me to try there own ftp because other sites on the net wer`nt as relialble.

i can pull 2mgs off them

sorry for the late reply... i have sorted the problem with the download speed and getting the correct speed.. thanks for the help.. i tried speedtest, and then ones on the virgin media site and got roughly the same speeds.
