Default Using USB flash drive for PVR (EX7000)

Does anyone have any views on the suitability of a USB flash drive for use with PVR features on an EX7000? My understanding is that the lifetime of these media (in terms of write cycles) is limited, so was wondering whether the constant writing of the PVR feature would cause the drive to deteriorate too soon? Would an external hard drive be a better choice (albeit a noisier one)?

Depends on how much you actually plan on recording.

I have a Corsair Voyager 8GB and its lasted me about 6 months so far and still going strong, I only record 1-2 things per day and the 8GB can hold at least 3 hours recordings

Be aware that most USB Sticks are not fast enough for HD recording, they should record SD OK though.
