Default advise on x-clamp repair kit

alright chaps ive got the ring of death on me xbox 360 and its now in silicon heaven.

iam gonna get a repair kit off fleabay, but do i get the one with or without the nylon washers, because some sellers on there are saying they distort after a few months and you will end up with the ring of death again , and some are saying u need them cos it will short out the motherboard without them.

i just thought i'd get some advise and feedback from you guys if you have used any of these repair kits or methods and which you perfer.

thanks

i done few with them also myself.just dont expect the repair to last forever obviously.

best realy is to get the console back to microsoft repair if you can.

You'd be better off buying a new console with the rates they charge lol. They don't even supply return packaging either I don't think. You have to pay for it yourself as well as the postage their and back.

I used metal washers on mine, you'll find when you come to do the fix, the heatsink and x clamps are made out of metal and the only insulating part is in the middle of the xclamp that presses against the board (which won't be there when you do the mod anyway)

no,it aint as much of quality as you think.i got rubber pads of the glazing when they replaced all my windows, far better than xecuters and microsofts put together and they cost me zilch.all my xclamp stuff i got off amazon in quantity.also 98% success, they just dont change the figures when they get red lights again or other errors,i could fix 98/100 but,i know the inevitable will occur.
