Default SB5100 question

Hi all, im slightly new here so be nice lol

I aquired a modem from a friend that has been working for about a year its suddenly stopped working.

Weird thing is about this modem when you connect to it, its still got standard firmware from motorola.

Anyone familiar with these at all im looking to find a way of getting it working again.

I don't understand how this modem has been hacked to work when the software is unchanged, I waas under the impression you had to flash them and then get macs and so on

I've looked at the modems settings and none of them can be changed.

Any help would be great thanks.

It's either running original firmware or the sub it came from hasn't been canceled. Look for the Sigma X2 tutorial in Downloads, you will need a Blackcat cable to upgrade this modem.

Like I said, either a sub that hasn't been canceled or it's running on original firmware. This is possible because you can upload a file to sector 3 (I think) on the modem which contains a MAC, Frequency, Config etc.

Have you checked the actual hack page URL's rather than just 192.168.100.1?

192.168.100.1:666 192.168.100.1:1337 192.168.100.1:1338

I just been going from 192.168.100.1, I thought that once the modem had been flashed the new firmware replaced the orignial one on the same address?

On SB5101's, yes. On SB5100's you must specify the hack port on the end of the URL as above or it just returns the original firmware GUI
