thinking of going to virgin for broadband if i get the 10mb line can i mod the modem to a say 20mb or 30mb how hard is it to do dose the modem have to be next to my pc or can it be enerywere in the house. cheers

when you go to virgin m8 they will install a coax feed from the street to which ever room in your house you request you can split this feed and route another cable wherever you want.

You would be stupid to mod the modem that virgin give you as this is registered to you. It would make much more sense to go onto ebya and buy yourself an ambit 250 or something then search this forum a bit follow some guides and voila you will have yourself a modded modem

Just google Eurovox. There is a site that sells them for 99 pounds.

BTW you don't need a premod, they are nothing like modems, very simple indeed.

Most come with a CD with all the stuff on. It's as simple as this: connect the supplied RS232 lead, load the software off the CD and hit the flash button, thats it!
