Default Reciever that has motorised wires connection?

The satellite cable we use has the normal satellite connection (F type) and also another cable that has blue, orange, white/orange and white/blue (4 wires). This I presume is for our motorised dish.

Our reciever (Echostar AD-300IP) has recently stopped working (smoke!!!) and we're looking for a replacement reciever.

Can anyone recommend a reciever that would have these connections?

You are better off getting a receiver you like and using a V Box, to drive your motor.
There aren't a lot of receivers available that work with these motors anymore, so the V Box converts the Diseqc to 36V for you.

Using the V Box sounds like the ideal solution, however the satellite's used mainly by my dad and he would prefer a single reciever.

Any suggestions on make and models I can look for on eBay, that would have these older connections?

The V box will just sit behind your reciever and translate the DisEqC commands from it into 36v signals that the motor will understand. It's not a case of having to select a channel on the reciever and telling the Vbox to move the dish to whatever sat.

Believe me, if it was me I would go this route and get a nice and shiny modern reciever!

He's just set in his ways and I can't persuade him.

If I could just show him some of the older recievers on eBay (or elsewhere) just to make him happy.

Thanks for the suggestion, that does seem like what we're looking for.

We ended up getting a Technomate 3150D reciever and a Technomate Vbox II.

However we cannot set it up via USALS or diseqc.

The dish moves using the Vbox remote or when moving the dish east/west manually via the reciever.

It's when we want to go to a particular satellite that the dish won't move.

So far we have turksat (which we had before the vbox arrived) and by manually moving the dish we got astra 2.

can anyone go through the USALs procedure for me?

you cant use usals with a vbox II, you will have to store the positions manually.
