Ambit 250 Won't Lock On

I am trying to get an Ambit 250 up and running with Haxorware but I have a problem. I have set the frequency for C&W (586750000) but the modem will not lock on for some reason. Can somebody tell me what the problem is please?

Try changing the cm_annex in telnet, haxor web GUI only changes annex_a and annex_b

Also you can fix it by exporting the n/h non-vol group from a working modem and importing it into the broken one with the tftp_write and tftp_read commands in telnet

I don't have a 250 here atm but from memory do this in telnet:

cd /
cd n/h

ls (will list all the commands available)
show (will show the current values)

i think it's cm_annex which needs to be set
if you type "cm_annex?" it'll show the possible values

Don't forget to write when you're done!

Dunno then soz mate, when i did the test fix i couldn't get it to lock in EXCW so I had to do the above and it fixed it.

From memory I think excw had cm_annex set to 'other' and ran the annex_b command. Pure is annex_a

Also you should have cm_tuner set to 19

There is always the possibility that the modem's tuner is broken though...

I've been told that the tuner can't be faulty otherwise the modem wouldn't scan for frequencies to tune into?

True if the tuner chip wasn't responding at all...but it can break in 100 different ways. Could be bad inductor or cap in the surrounding circuit...even a broken f-type connected where the feed conects.

But the settings I mentioned are the only ideas i've got, anyone else?

Ah right I see, well their doesn't look to be any signs of damage to the tuner because i've checked.

It can't be the tuner as I have just modded another 250 with Haxorware and it does the same thing. I don't think I am lucky enough to have two with nackered tuners lol.
