Default Eurovox not supporting older receivers

Seeing as Eurovox arent supporting older receivers eg: Eurovox 1, 2 etc... in Ireland with a N2 fix, then all you people dont just wait sell your items on eBay.co.uk as there simply wont be a fix for you and eBay.co.uk will most likely have more people searching as Ireland customers I would think would be uneasy about buying a receiver with no more support

Does that include the Max V - that's not that old. Does anyone know which models are being supported and which definitely will not be ?

All 2009 receivers are supported. All previous ones arent.Eurovox know that eurovox owners are likely to upgrade to another Eurovox, but they faced competition from mainly starview and kryptview,so they supported their 2009 receivers, instead of rolling out a fresh batch. My theory anyway.Personally,I would go linux as theres always support for linux, especially the dbox 2 and the dm 500c

What do you know exactly waqasahmed? You're saying Eurovox are no longer supporting firmware upgrades on the older models.. Are you saying its the manufacturer that makes and releases the dodgey firmware for these boxes?? Are you sure..? How do you know this ?.. Where are you getting your info, a guess .. Me personally would think Eurovox themselves simply manufacture and support the boxes as FTA boxes, not as dodgey boxes.. So in effect, they've never supported them for the purposes of decrypting channels that are not paid for, have they..?

Of course its the manufacturers that make the dodgy firmwares !

No one else has the capability to add a CAM into camless firmware. For this kind of thing you need the firmware source code.

Of course, thats the manufacturers official line but I think we all know thats total bs !

I knew an underground member told me something a while back that n2 fixes came from the manufacturers, and said something about source code as well, but I couldnt find the info,so I had no proof thanks. Also, please note that these boxes are called closed source for a reason.Unlike linux receivers, the new nagra 2 fixes must come straight from the manufacturer as they have the source code available to them and them only.hence the terms closed source.Im not too sure how long it would take the coders to get hold of the source code, but it will probably be near the next hit Another thing to bear in mind is that it has been said that the itgate team cracked n2 first, then the kryptview team, then the starview team, then the eurovox team, then Anon who made the opensource fix.Im sure if a normal coder like the ones here would probably release fixes for all receivers, not wait months years to release another one for a different receiver. Bottom line is neither Eurovox nor Starview support older receivers.

Quick correction there !

The KV N2 fix was released BEFORE any of the other boxes even thought there was a potential problem in Ireland. The Itgate solution didn't appear until a few months later. I'm not sure the Itgate was even the 2nd solution.
