Default No or Bad Signal on channels

Hi there

I have a Eurovox EX1000 SL. I have had the box for about 3 weeks and all the channels have been working fine. This morning when I switched it on I got black screens on all the channels (except BBC1, 2, ITV and CH4) with the message No or Bad Signal.

I then reset the box to factory default in config options and then selected ok to do another channel scan, fast one I think, and not it all works again.

2 questions:

1 Why does the no or bad signal thing happen?
2 Is doing the reset to factory default and scan for channels the best thing to fix it when it does happen?

Thanks for your help guys!

no or bad signal usually will appear if v/m change codes but if you have the latest firmware on your box the box should auto update itself the other thing to check is if you have emulation turned on No sat channels
check this post for how to check its turned on

umm, sorry bkuser but you're wrong, you get the "no or bad signal" message when the frequencies change, so you have to update channels or rescan to correct the frequencies.. If the codes change and you dont have the auto updating firmware then it will display "please wait updating code" untill your box updates or you input the codes.

as stated when channels are moved to different frequencies you get those signs but generally it happens on only a couple of channels.
if you are losing all the scrambled channels it is most probably a signal problem, the signal can be too low or too high.
next time it happens check the signal on a couple of them by pressing info twice on the remote whilst on a bad channel
