Ahh I see, £35 for a Phoenix programmer? You only need a basic one mate, get TMCs, it's only £15
. I've got one and it's great, reads MOSCs first time every time .

Its not just as simple as grabbing a programmer as some othe other posters have suggested although it will.
What I would suugest is reading Angels novice guide. This will help you get an understanding of what is involed. It helped me and I still managed to get it wrong doing my card.... Yes you need a programmer, everyone has their own favourite. Me I use Duolabs card programmer. It's great and it never fails either.. It does exactly what it says on the tin. With this you will also need to download Cas studio. GReat little program that you use for the programmer. The other thing you need to consider is what kind of card you have? Is it a virgin media Card or is it a fun card? There are other types of card as well but I suspect it will probably be either of this. If it's a Virgin Media Card you will need to have a pc with a com port. If it doesn't have a com port then you can buy a com to usb adapter and program your virgin media card that way. Now I know with the duolabs the virtual com port works well and I can't comment on other products so maybe some of our educated folk here can comment on this. You will also need to consider if it is a virginmedia card you still may not be able to access the card as some traders will use quite common images with backdoors in them. If this is the case you may also want to invest in having an unlooper. THere are lots of posts and tutorials about unloopers here and personally I use the tiny unlooper from Chartman. If its a funcard you have then a card programmer will be sufficent for your needs. If the card has went off it could be for various reasons. VM have knocked them off Encryption/coding changes Dates on card have expired In most cases it will be VM having knocking them off. If this is the case it's just a matter of programming the card again with the latest fix. Often you can leave the rom image alone on the card as just use the fix. Some users will wipe the card completely and do the card again. What you will want to do when you get your card is to dump the card's external eep, this will contain your boxkey and IRD. I suggest you get reading Novice angel guide m8. Tools you will need Novice guide CArd programmer Nagra edit/nagra date unlooper? Swaphexbin Get reading
