Default Getting FTA channels on SMT 2110C no card

Hi guys,

My first post here.

I've got a second hand 2110C from a friend who got it off ebay. Powers up, to LD30 but doesn't go any further.

Is the only option getting a funcard, or is there a way to get the box to view Free-to-air channels - I'm sure CableTel/NTL used to allow this years ago, but I guess not now?

I'm in an old NTL region, so I presume the 2110C is compatible?

TIA

Boot into the EM and check the signals. Hold up and down while plugging the power in and release the buttons when you see LD:14. As for using a Funcard, you will need the BK and IRD. As it doesn't have the card, look underneath the box for any numbers written in marker. The 2110C is compatible in all cable areas (Ex C&W, NTL and TW).

Thanks Blakey.

I screencapped the EM mode, but forgot I'm a new user and cant link/img.

DVB lock good, Network info found. Smart card removed, as you'd expect. Net ID also picked up. Just sits on LD40 on normal boot.

The box seems to be an unhacked Bedford/Luton region box, no writing underneath it.

Is there any way I can use it without hacking it?

Hi

You can probably get to use it as fta box but nothing more without the bk.

As you are in pure you should be able to get it to set to luton and end up with fta.

Cheers Yosuf

Is BK the Box Key? I've found fileaddicts, and downloaded BKE. Am I headed on the right track? Is there a link to a good tutorial for this, I've not seen on one the stickys, but am a bit blind at times.

If the box is originally from a non NTL area you may have to persuade it to update to the latest NTL firmware (cant remember which buttons for a forced firmware update on 2110 - sure someone else will know).

Hi

Bk is box key and bke is box key extractor which is a program you use to extract bk from jtaggable boxes which the 2110 isnt so its no good to you.

If you press standbye ok < > at same time whilst powering up till you see ld06 will reset box and as you are in pure will reset netid. You may have to go in EM and set freq and symb rate for your area, this will end up as an fta box for your area.

Regards
