Hi all,
Does anyone know of a good USB cable tuner for the UK? or failing that a half hight PCI tuner? I built myself a very smart slimline media centre to fit in a small position, and its great, but full hight PCI cards don't fit in it! Its running MediaPortal and, from what I gather on here, its quite easy to get this set up to show cable channels (and replace my trust dm500c). cheers for the help, tom |

Would a Firewire device that fits into a floppy bay be any good.?
There is an adapter that you can buy for the FireDTV dvb-c allows you to fit it into a floppy bay. Can't think of any USB or half height PCI. Mort. |

I went looking for one in German Ebay. No luck! I was going to go with the floppyDTV idea, but if i had a seperate remote i could just hide the Floppy DTV thing somewhere at the back as i don't really need access to it do i? Obviously the main issue is the price of them!

Edit - found this thread on MP forums, which would indicate it works well, with the latest drivers: http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/te...b-xs-hd-41874/ will have to just buy one and give it a go, expect me back soon looking for help on getting it set up! Hello, noob here. Will that terratec cinergy dvb-c usb get me all the free channels just by plugging the cable into it? Are there transponders and things to set up? What about the HD channels?

Yes They're encrypted, but if you can get decryption working then you'll get them. ALL the info you need is in this forum, and for starting up the info is here many times over. You will need to do a lot of reading before you start buying or else you'll end up wasting time and money (I know I did). Good luck, and welcome to the forum.
