Hello,
I am a newbie to satellite installation. I bought 80cm dish, monoblock lnb 6degree and technomate 1500+ CL Super. I was trying to find hotbird while connecting my monoblock LNB to receiver but couldnt get better than 5% on hotbird. Next day I called a satellite guy and he took off the monoblock LNB and put his 'gold lnb' . He told me that as I put LNB in receiver before finding satellite that's why my LNB has stopped working.I am wondering if it is possible for LNB to stop working because of reciever or did the satellite guy said so to sell his LNB to me? Kind Regards SaLiK |

What a load off toss. You have to use the lnb to align the dish in the first place.

You now know not to trust so called specialists.
![]() All he did was to try and con you. If he was to be of help, he would have fitted another monoblock. Just make sure that the sat switching in your receiver is selecting the right section of the monoblock for Hotbird and then that the dish is correctly aligned for that satellite. The usual problem is that the receiver selects the wrong monoblock section and then the alignment is totally wrong.

The satellite guy was not a specialist obviously, otherwise he would have either got your system working with your monoblock, or if it was faulty ( and not for the reason he stated!) replaced it with another monoblock.

Thanks for the advice..I will try to replace the single LNB with monoblock and change the disque settings as described in another thread about monoblocks.
