friend of mine as only got vermin tv package can he still get an internet connection if he gets a modem

Yes, he will need to split the feed though so he can connect the box and modem box at the same time.

thanks for your reply i already have a vermin modem and im on ubr6 and hes on ubr8 it works fine for me but when i tried it on his it would not connect am i doing something wrong

If it's a subbed modem then it will not work anywhere else apart from your home. If it is a modded modem then their is a good chance that the MAC you are using is from his UBR so he will keep getting booted from the network.

its a modded modem and he lives about 2 miles from me im on a differant ubr than him

That's what I said above, you are in the same UBR as the MAC he is using so that's why it won't work. Use a MAC that his from his UBR and you will be fine .
