Try reading some of the posts on the first page of Starview mate. There is a number of people with the same problem, including myself. From what I can gather the box is Kaput but if anyone knows of a fix it would be appreciated.

I have the same model box but there is no red light on the back. Where is is it on your box?
Check all the cables are inserted fully and in the correct places as this can sometimes be the problem.

hi terrybill, there is a red light on inside the box, this can be seen from the back, so there is power going to the box, also I checked to see if its a clone, its a genuine box, i loaded on v1.10 software, is this a common problem??

Is there anything at all on the channel display? even "_ _ _ _" means there is some activity on the box.

Hi

The red light that you are talking about must be from the SPDIF connection on the back, is this correct?

If this is the case, then the power supply is working fine.

You should check that the front display panel is connected securely to the mainboard.

When you boot the receiver, do you get a TheBOX splash screen on the TV?

Have you recently installed the v1.10 software on there?

Is the receiver genuine or a clone?

Cheers

Zemme

The best software to run on SV4 usb boxes is v1.07 as state in the post by marin-f tittled ( Important to all starveiw 4 owners UK )

This is a copy of his post
this is from a very good sourcethanks to him replying to me and the warning

the v1.10 and the later Beta are clone killers. The more worrying part is they are also killing early genuine models.

1.10 and the Beta are of no value in the UK as they have a bug with advanced recording via the EPG, always use 1.07 in the UK

Ireland needs to use the latest Beta because of Nagra 2 and 1.10 had a few bugs on Nagra 2. I see a steady stream of clones been killed.

you have been warned

i dont know if i have just been lucky as i have used the v1.10 for months and the new beta for a couple of weeks i have gone back to the 1.07.

I hope this help everyone.
