Hi, first of all im a complete novice at doing this, the person who told me about this and was going to help me set it up is currently AWOL so i hope someone here can help me, from the threads ive read most people seem to know the basics to start with whereas im not so fortunate..
I have Technotrend-Budget-C-1501---TT-Viewer DVB-C card installed with the drivers i got with it. to be frank i need help most of the steps after this i was firstly mistaken into thinking the card would have a screw in pin for a coaxial cable but that was my mistake, after reading many threads i assume i can still view VM channels using this card with the right setup. So to start with i need to understand what needs to be plugged into the pin at the back of the card since its not the coaxial screw pin i thought , on the DVBShop link for the card there is a picture of a black lead which does actually go into the pin on the card, apologies if if thats not what its for, like i said novice here . I have a pace digital box which has all working channels currently (if this info is required). I am using Vista and currently dont mind what software to use as long as i can get it working, i have tried using TT-Media Center to scan for frequencies with no results, im guessing this is because i have the wrong setup currently. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated and if any more info is required ill be sure to give it, Thanks. |

You need an f-plug to coax adapter. I got mine from ebay for a couple of quid. Search for this item number 270284893636 (I can't post links yet)

Make sure the adapter's the right way round. On the adapter itself the coax side should be male and the f-plug side female (I think). It might be worth taking your card with you if you're not sure.
I use DVBViewer to watch cable which is great but isn't free. ProgDVB is a free alternative and there are probably others. Once one of them is installed you'll need a transponder file which contains all of the frequencies VM use. You can find a progdvb one in the members section here and this can be converted pretty easily to dvbviewer. Once that's all in place scan for channels and with any luck several hundred should show up. All of the unencrypted ones, like BBC or ITV, should work immediately. If you want to view the encrypted channels you should read some of the vplug threads. |

Thanks again for the info, i managed to get sky news running as well as a few others before i added the new transponder, ive scanned with progDVB twice but it hasn't found any channels, not sure why, everything is as it was when sky was working in terms of the coaxial and the card, any ideas?

yh i got the transponder files from the links provided, put it into the cabfiles folder etc, ive reinstalled progDVB as well still no luck, just fyi im using the transponder file 'created Dec 9 2008', ive followed the instructions in the word doc provided on the same box.net link, scannings takin 40 min+ each time so its a slow process, if this scan doesnt work then ill try moving the splitter around at the main coaxial connection.

Well the changes didnt work, ive noticed in the progdvb scan the quality signal doesnt change, stays at 10%, the level signal hovers between 15-19% and bursts to 100% once or twice, theres no gaps in the coxial and the card is in tightly, cannot for the life of me see why its stopped when it was working a little bit without any scans.
