Default surfboard SB5100E

would my modem be able to surport the 50mb config file?

cmreg-vmng300-rts50.cm

and if so would i just put tht in the config bit on my sigma browser
very new to all this sorry

I don't think any modems can support that config at this present time mate. Rumour is that if you decide to force that config, you stand out like a sore thumb on VM's computers.

so do you just think its best to stay on 20mb just wanted toi try and get the 36mb to see what it was like!!!

Yes, if 20MB is stable then stick with that. I have a stable 20MB connection which is good enough for me .

what if a was to try the 50mb just to see what the speed was like, would i just need to put the config in the config name bit in the sigma X2 page
any help would do reading about it on here and people have done it near where i live and it works but carnt seem to find what i need to change on the sigma x2 page
Hard work been a newbie to all this lol

the reason it sticks out so bad is because the 50mb modems have dual tuners to bond to channels to creathe the 50mb obviously as your modem doesn't have 2 tuners you are running 1 channel flat out at the 36mb or whatever it is now there is no legitimate reason for a modem to be running 1 channel at that speed!
