Question Eurovox downstairs, what to put upstairs?

Hi there,

Got a Eurovox downstairs, went to put my old NTL box upstairs (got a cable line upstairs as well) and it showed up with 8888 after a bit of internet research it appears that it means the box is burned, and basically in need of a new one.

What box can i get to replace this box? Don't need anything special, as in no need for 'ALL' channels, just the FTA ones included in my £16 package ?

Much appreciated.

What are the amtels chips? Can I do this by keeping it close, or do I need to open it?

At the moment, I am just 'cooling it down', as it was rather hot. I will then open it, and where I see the 2 large chips I heat them up slowly with a hairdryer, then push along the edges gently alongside a touch of heat in regards to some airflow going on them and it should work? Are these instructions correct buddy, just before i try
