change a laptop CPU The CPU's for laptops cost a bomb I dont really think you're PC is slow because of your CPU. Your more likely to have made your PC slow by putting so much **** on it. Think about it, your laptop was probably "super fast" the day you bought it

Most laptop CPU's are soldered onto the mother board. I have only seen a few that can be removed.

Try adding extra or bigger memory if you can and running spy ware program.

I would format the PC first if it has a lot of **** on it or do as madrat says. Personally formatting CAN take less time especially if you dont need much to backup At least after you have formatted your PC, you can then decide if you do indeed need a better CPU or some more RAM instead

if you have got a lot of programs on it they could be running in the background (loaded on startup) go to run and type msconfig then click startup and uncheck everyting you dont need loading at startup
