Default ambit 250 flashing bootloader problem

when flashing a new bootloader onto my ambit 250 modem using softjtag, it errored half way through. i went through 50 pounds' tutorial on what to do if that happens. but after a few attempts, the soft jtag now sais that i need to restart the modem in order enter the flash drive. but i cant do that as if i do, i will brick the modem. can anyone help?

telnet into it and try the following commands

cd /flash
close
deinit
init

then try and softjtag again it kept erroring for me I just kept going and trying I think I rebooted the PC a couple of times when it wouldn't ork as well
