Would a forced software update on a modded V+ box cause any probs?
If not, can some one just remind me how to do it.

Hold down the Power and OK buttons on the front of the box while pressing the reset button. No, the box will not be harmed in any way, it just updates it to the latest found software for your area

Force Update
On Box Only
1. Power off box
2. Hold down OK and Stand BY on the Box
3. Power on Box with Buttons Held
4. The Box will Tell you on the tv Screen that it is Updating.
5. Let go of Buttons and Wait

Only do this if the net id is correct on V+ or it can cause problems, dont try doing it to set net id.

Why not? I read about problems that can occur but what problems are they?

It can apparantly corrupt the chips, so it wont boot up etc.

Forcing an update will update the box to the latest known software. This may fix certain bugs like slow channel changes, corrupt EPG etc.
