Lightbulb Newbie questions

Hello

Im moving so I have informed Vergin Mydear of the cancellation of my xl tv and xl bb package.

I did this initially just to get the advantages of being a new customer at my new address, £65 quidco and whatever else they would have liked to have thrown at me. But when i went online to just choose these packages i found that there wasnt an option and i had to have a phone line with them, i dont want a phone line.

I thought there must be a way arround this and posted on a deals forum, some bright spark suggested the free idea, but was cagey with his answers so i entrusted google to find me a good forum and by jove i think i found one.

Im informed that there is a way of getting free internet too, but I dont want to be annoying to someone in my area so Im going to pay for that like the upstanding citezen that i am.

Can you tell me if i understand this correctly, to use one of these boxes to access all of mydears channels and to record/pause tv all i need is:
1. the mydear cable coming out of the wall and it doesnt need to be recieving a service that is being paid for
2. one of the various boxes
3. the relevant info to load into the box.

Thanks
Tim

Hi

As long as you are paying minimum subs therefore ensuring cable line is live then yes to all of above questions.

so as long as i have the net coming through i can then put a splitter on the cable and pop 1 output to the modem and 1 to a tv box (whichever i get). Is that correct?

If this is right then if i buy more boxes and if i had a 3 or 4 way splitter i can get another cable to another box in a different room? How am i doing?

Hi

Thats about right but remember the more boxes you add and the more times you split cable you will lose signal and may need to boost signal but for a couple of boxes you should be fine as long your incoming signal is good in 1st place.

Dont know what box you got currently but as you have cancelled take card out night before so just in case they dont ask for box back the details are good and it wont get a deac hit, so then you could mod this box if they dont collect.

Regards

Card and the box both valuable (depends which box it is) card must have the same info as in the box (paired with the box) to able get the box modded, decat hit is what the CC send to the card to change the info in it (unpaired the card from the box) when you cancel your subscription and keep the box on line with the card in it, depends which box you are dealing with once the card is hit then you can not mod the box.
