they are both running haxoware rev 32, my ambit 256 has been running for more than a week now using a 2mb mac and using cm-20480-768 to force it to 20. was working very good, also my ambit 250 has been recently upgraded from infinite to haxoware, and i set it up correctly and used a 20mb mac that was working for 1 full day. now this is what happen i took my ambit 250 round my mates house so we could play gears 2 online on xbox 360, all was good untill like 3 in the morning where it goes xbox live disconnected. so i checked modem on haxoware page and it gave me this message Acquire Downstream Channel Done Obtain Upstream Parameters Done Upstream Ranging Done Establish IP Connectivity In Progress Retrieve Time of Day Waiting Negotiate security Waiting Receive configuration Waiting Register connection Waiting Cable modem status Ranging Complete i havent tried changing macs or any other settings as it was working fine till then. then i got home to see if my ambit 256 was fine, i went on internet checked my emails and stuff then the webpages stopped loading. then got the same message as above. also heres the log 1970-01-01 00:04:50 Notice M573.0 Modem Is Shutting Down and Rebooting... 1970-01-01 00:04:50 Critical Resetting the cable modem due to docsDevResetNow 1970-01-01 00:03:44 Critical D001.0 DHCP FAILED - Discover sent, no offer received 1970-01-01 00:03:32 Notice M572.0 T4 No Station Maint Timeout - Reinitialize MAC... 1970-01-01 00:03:31 Critical R004.0 Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance o 1970-01-01 00:00:24 Critical D001.0 DHCP FAILED - Discover sent, no offer received 2009-08-09 07:10:07 Critical D003.0 DHCP WARNING - Non-critical field invalid in response. 2009-08-09 07:10:01 Critical R002.0 No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out (US 4) 2009-08-09 07:09:51 Critical R002.0 No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out (US 2) 2009-08-09 07:09:46 Notice M572.0 T4 No Station Maint Timeout - Reinitialize MAC... 2009-08-09 07:09:46 Critical R004.0 Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance o 2009-08-09 07:06:39 Critical D001.0 DHCP FAILED - Discover sent, no offer received 2009-08-09 07:06:27 Critical D003.0 DHCP WARNING - Non-critical field invalid in response. 2009-08-09 07:06:19 Critical R002.0 No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out (US 4) 2009-08-09 07:06:15 Notice M572.0 Ds Lock Failed - Reinitialize MAC... is there happening to anyone else. what do you recommend i do change the macs, or did virmin chuck both my modems offline because them 2 macs have been working very good till now. thanks |

ok my ambit 256 has just started working again after being down a couple hours.
just wonder why it went off. also went i check on the gui on haxoware i notice the memory goes down in the top right hand corner it starts at 11% then eventually goes down to like 1%. is that meant to happen or not. will check my ambit 250 later to see if that ok cause left it round my mates. |

the first thing i would do is upgrade from infinite to haxoware.
haxoware is very easy to set up once you have a good mac. |

first thing i would do is NOT force anything and try other macs mate untill you get online, then change NIC macs router macs all should be fine and you should get online
also when going round your mates do a scan there from his modem if he has 1

hi
thanks for that do i need any special equipment to upgrade or is it just going to be software because i was reading about a max 232 cable and opening the modem up and pluging it onto the chip board or will it just be typeing the web address and going from there also would it be better to run the modem on usb rather than ethernet as i keeping seeing nic mac whatever that is so was wondering weather that would be better to just run it via usb as you don't have to change your nic so i have seen if that is right or was i wrong ? but i just seen that there is know usb on the 255 so there goes that idea thanks again for your help sorry to bonbard you with all these questions another newbie for you thanks flump |

Right click on local area connection, then properties. Then click internet protocol/(tcp/ip) and then properties again Then change the following IP Address: 192.168.100.10 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.100.1 Leave any other settings alone and hit OK. 2. Set up a TFTP server (using solar winds) with haxorware11rev32.bin in its root (same folder) 3. Make sure the haxorware web gui isn't currently open (the internet browser closed) 4. Connect to modem with PuTTy, Set host name (IP) set to IP 192.168.100.1 Telnet highlighted and port set to 23 and click open. 5. Enter your username and password If after entering username and password loads of frequency starts coming up and going crazy all over screen don’t worry just copy and paste this command in for it to stop cd \cm_hal scan_stop cd \ Then Copy the below command, cd /ip ipconfig 1 release y dload -i 1 -l -f 192.168.100.10 haxorware11rev32.bin y cd / reset Then just right click on the PuTTy application window. And paste in the command ( I use ctrl+v) Haxorware 1.1 should now boot. i will provide the links you need for the programs for this. |

right heres the links
PuTTY Download Page download putty.exe heres link for haxoware rev 32 Haxorware and link for solar winds http://www.soft82.com/get/download/w...s-tftp-server/ Also missed some instructions 2. Set up a TFTP server (using solar winds) with haxorware11rev32.bin in its root (same folder) Once you installed solar winds go to c drive then tftp root And copy and paste in the folder haxorware11rev32.bin Then run the tftp server from solar winds Click file then configure, then highlight tftp root, then click the haxoware11rev32.bin file then click ok. Then go to file configure, security and click transmit and receive files then click ok Now just minimise the program. 3. Make sure the haxorware web gui isn't currently open (the internet browser closed) Now connect modem to pc/laptop by Ethernet cable and don’t have the virgin media fibre optic cable connected to modem, So just power supply connected to modem and Ethernet from modem to pc 4. And paste in the command ( I use ctrl+v) Haxorware 1.1 should now boot. to access haxoware setup page go to http://192.168.100.1/ Last edited by ant16151189; 10-08-09 at 12:27 AM. |
