Default Re: W7 + Joker 0.80 = No Sound on HD channels

Guys thanks for the 0.80.

Just the same issue, on 0.79 i keep getting freezing on channels ans 0.80 works great but no sound in HD. By the way am using sony Bravia so issue is not with PC but the firmware.

Strange not sure how to fix the sound issue on 0.80. Has anyone tried any other later firmware?

Has anyone used any other firmwares ofter .80 what is this kamilz firmware anyone tried, has it got nag on it?

Floppy is running the latest (March 09) firmware, but it had the same issues with the firmware before. Think my area just plain doesn't like 0.79 or 0.80!

The latest firmwares from kamilz don't support Nagra. I've tried 1.14 to 1.17 and none of them work with Virgin. I've also looked through the release notes on the others and it definitely seems like somewhere between 0.80 and 1.12 they dropped Nagra support. Shame as those firmwares are easy to find in CAS format!

Just a quick update. I've had no luck trying to flash any of the 0.54 to 0.78 firmwares via CAS3, so today ordered a couple of Funcard5's to try that method. In the meantime, I tried a Zeta flashed to 0.79 and found that most of the channels that used to break now work fine with it! Haven't tried all channels though, so some that used to work may now break it but I'll look for them another time.

I'm currently left with:
Film4, Film4+1, EuroNews - don't work on 0.79
Any of the HD channels - don't work on 0.80

So what I've now got is Floppy 1 sporting a 0.80 and Floppy 2 with a 0.79 in it. In Media Centre's "Change Source" option, the HD channels are told not to use Floppy 1, and the Film4 channels are told not to use Floppy 2. Bit of a major workaround, but it should be fine (fingers crossed) until I find a firmware that works on all my channels.

Hi,

I to am using a joker cam ver 0.80 with an atmega card plugging into CI slot on my samsung tv. Can view all encrypted channels including new hd channels but don't have sound on hd channels except on bbc hd? There was a short time when i was getting sound on all hd channels but the wife pulled the cam out & stuck it in in the other telly now can't get sound? Anyone any idea how to get sound back on the hd channels?? Would using a funcard work?

I never managed to get sound on the HD channels with 0.80 (and still cannot). The only solution I can suggest is try flashing the CAM with 0.79 instead and see if that works.

If you haven't got the capability to flash a CAM, drop me a PM and I'll happily try my CAS3 on it if you want.

Anyone got joker 0.79 firmware for flashing with a funcard or any links please? Don't have CAS so will need to try funcard flash method.

Cheers

There are a few things standing on the way of me going down the MediaPortal route:
  • Wife and kids have learned and like the Media Centre interface and how to set up record, series record, replay, etc.
  • Have currently got a Media Centre Extender (DMA2100) in the bedroom and probably getting another in the next few months.
  • Have got a year's worth of films and TV recorded in .wtv format - would this play on MP?
  • I use a few plug-ins on MC that I'd need to find equivalents for on MP - Vista4cast, TunerFreeMCE, mcShoutCast and PowerDVD9 for Blu-Ray. Sure this would be easy enough, but still a hassle.
I realise none of these is an actual show-stopper, but the main problem is WAF (and KAF - Kid acceptance factor). I'd need to be able to show a knockout blow for MP over MC to warrant them "learning" a new interface and personally I don't see one yet as all my problems are behind-the-scenes stuff they don't see.

One day I will have to try out Media Portal and when I do mate, trust me - I'll be calling on you for help!! Thanks for the offer, it's very much appreciated.
