hi my surfboard 4200 modem stopped working the other day not sure wot software its running but live in t&w area cheers for any help

open internet explooror and type in the address bar, 192.168.100.1

have you tryed chaningin the mac?

no i havent tried to change mac ,will try wot u said ,will i need a lead to change the mac?

What firmware is you're modem running? Check out haynes modem guide, should be links in the forum somewhere..

Basically depending on what firmware you're running you need to run a sniffer prog like dhcp force and find some valid macs and then change ur modem's mac and ur computers mac while coax is out of modem and then try it..

Took me a while but this thread helped - any modems post here

changed mac address all the lights on modem working again but cant access the net ,the firmware is sigma

mine 4200 when down the other day cant seam to get into page only two lights on , tried to reflash it with netboot only get this msg snmp not responding disable firewall and anti virus still no joy
