Default Change from Infinite to Haxorware Firmware

I am having problems reconfiguring my SA 2100 with infinite firmware.

Having browsed the forum, I have found a thread that allows you to
change the firmware using an ethernet cable.

How Do I Put Haxoware 1.1 Revision 31 On My Modem Using Ethernet Cable

Is this possible to do on the SA 2100, if not could someone please
advise me how to change my mac and config file.

The modem was working fine until this morning, I think the problem
is due to the new config files that virmin are using.

I am in the Edinburgh area.

yeah,. providing you know your telnet user name and password you can upgrade with ethernet.

if however you dont, you'll need a serial max 232

Thanks for the info m8
but I thought the only password/username I would need
is the default - Infinite/SetValue is this correct and if so
where can I get a hold of the ambit config tool and how to guide.

I recommend you upgrade from infinite to haxoware, i have just done it myself and can gladly say its worth doing.

only takes like 5 minutes to do by ethernet cable.

the default password for infinite is

Username: fcuk_the_cc
Password: v1v2_Noaccess

well it should be or maybe that was for ambit 250 but yea try it

the link for ambit config tool is

Pokenet - Cable tools

but i would be sure to upgrade from infinite to haxoware as you dont need programs to set up your modem.

you do everything in the web browser and its really easy to set up and noob friendly lol

yes you can do it by ethernet cable

right heres the links for the programs you need

http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~s.../download.html

download putty.exe

heres link for haxoware rev 32

Haxorware

and link for solar winds

http://www.oldversion.com/download_S...ver_8.2.1.html

Go to start, connect to, show all connections

Right click on local area connection, then properties.

Then click internet protocol/(tcp/ip) and then properties again

Then change the following

IP Address: 192.168.100.10
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.100.1
Leave any other settings alone and hit OK.

2. Set up a TFTP server (using solar winds) with haxorware11rev32.bin in its root (same folder)

Once you installed solar winds go to c drive then tftp root

And copy and paste in the folder haxorware11rev32.bin

Then run the tftp server from solar winds

Click file then configure, then highlight tftp root, then click the haxoware11rev32.bin file then click ok.

Then go to file configure, security and click transmit and receive files then click ok

Now just minimise the program.

3. Make sure the haxorware web gui isn't currently open (the internet browser closed)

Now connect modem to pc/laptop by Ethernet cable and don’t have the virgin media fibre optic cable connected to modem,

So just power supply connected to modem and Ethernet from modem to pc

4. Connect to modem with PuTTy,

Set host name (IP) set to IP 192.168.100.1

Telnet highlighted and port set to 23 and click open.

5. Enter your username and password

If after entering username and password loads of frequency starts coming up and going crazy all over screen don’t worry just copy and paste this command in for it to stop

cd \cm_hal
scan_stop
cd \

Then Copy the below command,

cd /ip
ipconfig 1 release
y
dload -i 1 -l -f 192.168.100.10 haxorware11rev32.bin
y
cd /
reset

Then just right click on the PuTTy application window. And paste in the command ( I use ctrl+v)

Haxorware 1.1 should now boot.

to access haxoware setup page go to http://192.168.100.1/

Then once haxoware rev 32 is installed you will need to set it up

make sure you go back to start, connect to, then show all connections, right click local area connection then properties, then internet protocal tcp/ip properties, then put everything back to automatically then press ok.

go here to view what you need to do

Haxor to Sync Guide

download the pdf

if i helped click thanks

Wow what can I say, except a big thankyou.

I shall give this a try tomorrow when I have a bit more time.

Can you just confirm that this will work with my Scientific Atlanta 2100.

And I have to agree, I have configured modems with Haxorware and it is
by far the easiest to use.

Thanks Again

It is an EPC2100R2

will this make a difference to which method I should choose
when changing the config file??

Just looked at the link above and it all looks the same except it doesn't have
webstar on the front just Scientific Atlanta.
