Default atmega to change net i.d

Hey, can anyone tell me how to use an atmega to change the net i.d on a v+ box?
I've used the funcard method on the old pace boxes, is it virtually the same? How do you get into the em on a v+ box? scientific atlanta.
What program do you use? toxic?
Thanks

This had reported limited success in the past , the only method that has every worked for me is buy lifting and reprogramming the 512 chip , or just blank it if your in pure

when you sere putting the card in, did you look at the logs to see if 'access notification received' was coming up?

having it connected to a good (any) feed is also a good idea. if any of the tuner status whatzit thingys are red instead of green it wont go

access notification received, all tuner a boxes are green although input signal level is at -3 dBmV, probably because the frequency is incorrect?
When I was writing the atmega card using NetId v.2.1.7.2 my card writing program said there was a checksum error 4 with the int. file, is this normal?
So far the card hasn't worked. Booted into em, popped card in and no change. Does this mean I need to replace the 512 chip?

The way i do mine is using NetID v2.1.7.2 and a funcard

1.write net id card in this order exteep, inteep, flash then rewite the inteep a couple of times

2.Boot into engineers menu and set the frequency and pin

3.reboot box into engineer menu again

4.go to page 2 and insert your net id card

5.Press the reset button on front of box, remove card and let it boot back to engineers menu

6.On page 2 insert the net id card and the box SHOULD reboot and take the new id

This works for me in excw, ive tried all ways and this has worked now on 3 boxes

Think its the "magic" reset button that make a difference as a normal reboot dosnt work for me!

Just tried this, after setting the frequency I re-boot the box and the freq has gone back to it's default and the box won't reboot once I've inserted the net i.d funcard, looks like a nogo

tried same process with atmega, no success, looks like I have to replace the chip. Where's the best place to get one?

Oh, got the freq to save now but the net i.d card isn't causing the box to re-boot or anything, just giving it a credit limit of £5150
