When I try to set my PS3's resolution to 1080p, the screen goes blank and reverts back to 1080i. I have a Baird 27 inch LCD TV (not sure of the proper model name) which I am sure is full HD. Why is my PS3 doing this?
Thanks. |

what model number is it? the only 27 inch model i can find listed is the Baird MACL 27 W 18 27 in - 16:9 - Resolution: 1366 - 768.
If it's this one it is not a full HD (1080p) panel. so your tv can only display 720p or 1080i and that is why your ps3 is reverting back to 1080i setting. hope that helps

That's what I thought as well but the guy in the shop said it was full HD..... strange. Is their any difference in quality between 1080i and 1080p? I also have a 42 inch LCD TV of the same make downstairs and that displays the PS3 in 1080p.

I had this problem..
I did a full factory restore thingy-ma-bob and it went on 1080p on every tv i tried it on (4) Hope this works for you, however the restore deleted all my data, settings, connection settings and game saves and formatting ![]() But at least it fixed my problem haha! I also changed the HDMI wire... Adam |

It's right, I can make do with 1080i. I was just abit confused as to why my TV wouldn't let me do it. I found it that is is just HD Ready and not Full HD
