Well people here say look for a heatsink on your board and if it does, then you have a clone. I would only use that info if you have an early EX1000SL. Have a look here Wear do these box's come from? and here New E-mail they sent me. and you'll see that the clones dont have a heatsink anymore. So if you have an early EX1000SL, its a heatsink to identify, if you dont then sorry. Where did you purchase yours from? And did you buy it new?

Try and find out where it came from in the first place as then we can really tell if its a clone or not eg: if he bought from TechDNA then its a straight up clone. If they're not willing to tell you where they got it from(if they're wanting to make profits from you
) then how much did you pay. If you paid £100+ then you are likely to have got yourself a genuine. Dont take my word for it though, thats just the likelihood. If he says I bought it from eBay, I would stick it back on eBay

A bit on the expensive side, but you may have just got yourself a real one(unless your friend of a friend used eBay?) Does your friend of a friend know how to "chip" them. If he does, then hed most likely be on forums like these where people are constantly told not to buy from eBay so you might have got yourself a genuine one although be it expensive. I could have sent you a Eurovox EX1000SL for €160 free delivery
