I have had a strange problem with my Eurovox Red 2007 (although the problem is the same on a borrowed Starview).
Half of my channels are OK, those above about 500mhz. This includes SS1 and most of the movie channels Half of the channels, those below 500mhz say No Signal or are just completely broken up. This includes ESPN, Sky Premiere etc. These channels when scanned show up as TV1, TV2, TV3 etc. My V+ box works fine. I have tried various factory resets and power scans, but the problem persists. I assumed this was signal related, so I have tried removing splitters to increase signal and adding splitters and a 6db attenuator to dampen the signal. I also have a seperate feed upstairs which bears the same results. Can anyone think of anything else I might try in light of all the above?? Thanks!! Last edited by markjohn777; 14-08-09 at 05:18 PM. Have you tried connecting the box to where the virgin box is to check if you have the same problem?
Is it the main feed your doing your scans from? Also sometimes it could just be the cable connected from your splitter to RF thats causing the problem. I had a problem like that then changed the cable and it seemed to be ok. |

I've just installed my first eurovox and the cable i used to connect it from the splitter wasn't up to scratch and resulted in a really poor signal quality and lack of channels/channels breaking up. I have since replaced the cable with a better quality one and its worked a treat although FX HD seems to have disappeared.

I tried the scan both from the main feed and from the splitted feed, both produce the same results.
I've noticed that my channel signal strength is 85-87% even with th 6db forward path attenuator installed. Does that sound high?? I think I will get a variable attenuator from fleabay and see how it likes the full 20db Thanks for the replies. |

yes 85 - 87% is on the high side
before you buy that attenuator try inputting your cable feed into the loop out socket and see what you get. |

Well, I tried the variable attenuator which enabled me to bring the level back down to 80% (in fact I could get down to 75%). It made no difference.
Tried rescanning the channels. About 50% of those channels come up a TV1, TV2, TV3 etc. They show what's on in the EPG but the channels just say no signal. All the movies are fine other than Premiere. SS1, 2, 3 all fine but can't get ESPN. If I pull the info up to view signal levels, the level fluctuates ~3-4% every second. Is this normal?? |
