Default South County Dublin

Just wondering if the system here is the same as the uk with regards to MACS etc?

Recently moved here from the UK and in the past have used "methods" for obtaining services.

Yes mate-nigh on the same however settings will be different Freq is 482000000 (I think this has changed since I was last there from 426250000) & BPI is set to BPI+ Bypass and you can force the config to cm_ultra.bin which is fastest there I believe. Are you on Haxor? And scanning for MACs is same as it was here before configs changed so easier. What area are you in, I may have some MACs for you to have a bash for starters.

Hi guys, am in Kildare and on Chorus and was wondering if you could point me to the right direction...

Am wondering what is the best modem to buy for Ireland, and where do I start to get 'services' and would I have to be subscribed to choruses package??

Any help appreciated.

If your cable feed is live, then technically no, you won't need to subscribe to any services from Chorus.

However, do bear in mind its always considered best practise to pay at least the minimum subscription, that way you ensure you stay connected to thier network and the company keeps broadcasting!

As for the modem, I don't know what modems are used in Ireland, but if its anything like here, Ambit's seem the way to go right now.

You could also take a read of the Haynes Cable Guide (latest rev 1.7.2 google it if need be), as this will give you lots of general information that you will need to know in order to accomplish your wishes sucessfully.

Hope this helps, any questions, fire away
