Default V+ already chipped. New HD channels?

Hi, just a quick question regard the V+. I have an official V+ with official paired card. I had the V+ modded about 8 months ago. No problems - all channels now free (on M package from VM). The company who modded it added a chip (or something) and re-progammed the original card I had. I had to send the box and card to them. All that is OK. Now that VM have put out new HD channels (which I don't get at the moment) I lost BBC HD which I did manage to get before, even before the mod.

The company who did the original mod say they just need to re-programme the card for me, free if I only want the channels I had before - or £20 for extra HD channels.

I have no problem with the money, but I would like to do it myself. As the box is already "chipped" and card unlocked (I presume) and also the box is blocked from V seeing what I watch, it should be quite simple for me to programme the card with the new HD channels.

Which programmer do I need? What software do I need?

Many thanks

you need a pheonix compatable card programmer to start with.

if you then find out your card is indeed unlocked your pretty much good to do your own card.

Thanks for the info. I can only presume my card is unlocked as its already been modded. I get all channels (except HD ones)

Do I need something like a Infinity Phoenix and Nagraedit 4.1?
Is there a tutorial for this combination in Phoenix mode for the V card? If not, what is the procedure for re-programming this card just to add the few HD channels?

Is there a link to the download area in this forum, as I can't find it?

Thanks

They will serve you well. Infinity Phoenix programmers are brilliant. Insert your card and providing it is unlocked you will be able to read the information in the program nagra edit, then it is a matter of adding the hd tiers and then writing the information back to the card.

The phoenix and 4.1 are what you need, depends on the image they have put on the card if its a B09 use xncs or boxget pc2 first then A3E/B09 d2c patch in 4.1 if its a locking image you will need an unlooper or maybe someone will unloop it for you.
I think you need 5 posts to access fta try this and see if you can see it http://www.techwatch.co.uk/forums/25...oad-links.html look in other cable tv.

Thanks. I got the phoenix and Nagra 4.1. I read the card in Phoenix mode, changed all the tier 8 max channel fields, and now I have all the HD channels.

Many thanks

Now, I read somewhere you can put credit on the card too, for PPV

hahaha. Maybe I am pushing it

PPV with a modded box is not a good idea. Anyway, if the box has been modded correctly, PPV wont be available to you as all communication from box to VM will have been disabled.

If you find that you can watch PPV (on demand, catch up TV etc) then the box hasn't been fully modded and is still visable to the network an VM.

Some guys, in other threads, suggest that cutting talkback isn't required, but this will leave you box identifiable.

My advice is be thankfull for what you have and hopefully it will remain.
