The boxes don't provide a talkback feature to Virmin hence no Red Button action on any channel Adam, if they did Virmin might detect the units etc

More importantly Virgin don't offer the SKY interactive service as SKY keep it for themselves!

Red button functionality on Sky Sports is being negotiated between VM and Sky presently. VM have stated their aim of making this functionality available to customers by sometime mid next year.

Depending on how VM set this up, it may or may not be possible for 3rd party boxes to use the facility. Generally, the RED button stuff is handled by a small java-like code snippet which is constantly transmitted as part of the channel. If manufacturers can interpret that snippet and duplicate the functionality then there's no reason it shouldn't work.

If its some kind of VOD function though, then no chance !

The BBC red button stuff is not VOD though, all the various scenes are transmitted simultaneously on different channels and the java-like code of the red button is simply used to switch channel to whichever scene you select.
