Default Checking for live feed

Ok I got the Lock and Seal F connector connected to the white box and then theRF Male To F Female Connector onto it and then RG6U coaxial cable onto that and then at the end I have of the cable there is just a circle hole which fits into the aerial hole on the freeview box is this the correct way of connecting it up to a freeview box and checking for the live feed?
Thx

Maybe i'm getting the wrong end of the stick here but I dont think your meant to test for a live feed by plugging the cable into a free view box...

I think your meant to plug it into your TV's aerial socket and see whether you can pick up the normal TV channels (BBC, ITV, C4, Five)...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

I should add to that, that I believe VM broadcast the standard Analogue channels over their network which is why you'd want it in your TV and not your freeview box...

They don't broadcast analog everywhere anymore, they ceased it in my area last year, so plugging the digital feed into a TV socket and scanning may not help at all if analog is no longer on in your area...

The best way to ensure you have a live feed is, subscribe to a basic phone & TV package.. Even better value if you add broadband to the package too.. So don't be tight, pay VM at least something for all what you're expecting to nab for nowt ... And then you'll be safe to know your feed will always stay live too.

I do have the basic package, But the white box in that particular room has not been used for many many years and I just wanted to make sure it was still live.
Btw is my setup correct if I wanted to connect a eurovox in that room cause it seems like the aerial socket and the RF IN socket on the eurovox are the same?
thx

Oh, take your VM box out and plug it into the other white box then... If it work's then it's still live. I think it's unlikely to have been disconnected... (unless VM decided to use that feed for your new white box)...

I think Aerial in is for the TV aerial and RF in is for the VM cable... Can't remember without looking and I'm at work at the moment...

Doesn't it say which way round to put them in the manual?

the cable feed goes into the rf in socket and you need a push fit adaptor that screws on to the screwed connector, if your stuck you can remove the screwed f connector and fit a normal ariel connector as a temporary solution
