how would changing ubr's mean engineers visiting cabinets more?

A lot of equipment is been added to cabinets to support multiple UBR links. In some cases you will find that 50/20 Meg modems are being moved to a new UBR whilst the lower tiers are staying on the older UBR's.

There's also a lot of stuff happening with VM rationalising the network as they continue to merge the three different networks. You may find that routes change considerably from what you may of previously seen.

Also, there is a lot of new stuff being added to the network to support new transponders (most areas will of seen at least two extra transponders come online in recent months - in some areas its more) and the new modem frequencies (there's usually at least three downstream frequencies in each area now, whereas previously there was just one).
