Hello Everyone
I am new to this forum so I would extremely appreciate somebody's help. I have just purchased an ex1000sl eurovox - I have connected everything as the tutorioals say to do and have only managed to install 11 channels. Also when these channels come up the screen is just saying "no or bad signal". I have an old NTL box that still uses the VM feed and this works fine on a few channels so I am presuming the cable feed is not connecting to the eurovox for some reason - Can anyone please help? Also the company I bought it off said it had been sent with the latest free to air firmware installed. Kind Regards GJP10 Manchester |

Hi mate,
search on google for 'eko *******'. You should find the latest firmware there... and the one you probably want to use! As for the signal... Have you used a good quality splitter? If so, and your still having problems... Take the splitter out and try again with a direct feed... If that solves your problem you'll probably need a booster... Dan |

Damn! I hate when that happens...
******** should be a reasonably small number followed directly by the word shared... |

I believe so mate! The hardware should detect the channels the same way regardless of firmware...
Have a go with plugging the feed straight in, without a splitter... I think that will give you a good idea of what/where the problem is... |

Thanks Mate
I tried this last night so went direct from then VM feed into the eurovox - But this hasn't helped - I got excited when I saw channels starting to install but then it ended up with only 11 channels and like I say the screen saying "no or bad signal" The only thing I can think is because I had to add an adaptper to the VM coxial cable to screw into the eurovox this is causing the problem? The seller is saying it's becuase I only have FTA firmware installed but I replied by saying that if I add new firmware then this would mean I can't get a refund!? |

Who did you buy it from mate? I'm pretty sure all the legit sellers know that your going to want to put your own firmware on it...
Never the less, the VM feed should have a screw end on it... You can get an adapter which screws into the screw and turns it into a push in connecter which I believe is what your Eurovox has... Is that how your's is set up? If so, you shouldn't be losing a signal through the adapters... Ahh... Here's the adapter you'll need... http://images.maplin.co.uk/full/qq72.jpg |

Also mate....
Maybe your box only has the FTA frequencies on it... Have you tried scanning for new frequencies? If you have I believe you should find somewhere in the region of 30 frequencies.... These 30 (ish) frequencies contain the 250 (ish) channels.... |

Thanks again Dan - Yes that's the adapter that I'm using that came with the box.
I purchased the eurovox off mycablebox as I was told this was a reputable company....? Each time I re-scanned I reset to factory settings as well as using two different symbol rates - The same problem still persists with "no or bad signal" The only other thing I can think is try the box at a friends to see if it works there - If the picture comes through then would that confirm it's my connection? |

i suppose it would confirm that but if you have a VM box that's working properly then I guess your connection must be fine...
Did you say you had a working VM box? |
