Ahh man that sucks! I wish I could help... This is a complete guess but try searching the forum for information on JTAG... They use that to revive bricked boxes...

when flashing you could try leaving power off the box hit the download button and then put power back on to box (may need to try a few times)
also I think there's a black reset button inside the box (there is on max v) but be very careful.

Hi mate,

is that a genuine box?

I'm after high quality images of genuine boxes as I'm about to buy one but want to make sure it's not a clone before I do...

Cheers,

Daniel

That is a genuine box mate , Doesn't mean a dodgy trader still won't sell you a so say genuine box .

Give Lincsat site a look , only genuine boxes there mate.

Lincsat's Nick-Nacks

Or even Waqasahmed he sells genuine boxes too

Hi g80878,

I've actually agreed an order with the guy in order to distinguish if he's selling clones though...

Is that a picture of your box or just a picture you grabbed from another post? If it's yours I'd be eternally grateful if you'd be able to take a higher resolution picture and maybe a couple of the outside too...

Thanks,

Daniel

The picture is from a member who was unsure of the authenticity of his box , i had at the time some lower resolution comparisons , This box was deemed to be genuine and is working fine

The packaging can also be factor as with the early eurovoxes , ie low quality colouring etc.

Main thing is to look for heat sinks or residue left from thermal paste if a dodgy trader has removed it to pass it off as genuine , Best to bench test it , leave it on in normal circumstances at room temp , if its a dodgy clone with the heat sink removed the sub standard chip will gradually overheat causing the box to freeze or become un-responsive.

Brilliant mate!

I'll do just that! Unfortunately I won't have the time to leave the box on and test it... But for future reference that's a great idea!

In the mean time I'll probably create a new thread asking if anyone want's to brave taking their EX1000 apart for me!
