I bought laptop this “IBM T43” from boot sale but it’s locked bios password needed, I know with these laps dump from security chip need to be read so my question is does anyone has an idea of where about the location of this security chip??

Thanks for that m8, I have that site and others like "allservice" but there isn't anything that direct you to the T43 securuty chip.

when is it asking for password?

if its on start up then will be hdd pass and that cant be broken its a new hdd required

This password isn't stored on the hard drive m8, if that was the case another hard drive would sort it out, even CMos battery does not help in this case so it's the sequrity chip on the motherboard that store the password among other info and the only way to get that info is by dumpping the chip and read the dump, but my question is which chip and where about is it on the motherboard m8.
