Al Jazeera sports card

i bought an aljazeera sports card about 6 months ago, but still not put it into the reciever, i just wanted to ask if i put it in now, should it still open the al jazeera channels. i notice that the encryption is irdeto 2, viaccess 3 and keyfly?

It depends if it was activated and how long a subscription you purchased.
Try going into the receiver/cam menu and looking at the card details.

i havent yet tried the card, wanted to ask first? The card is a 1 year card and it should only be activated when its put into the reciever. i thought maybe the encryption has changed as they have new channels now compared to last year

Any legitimate cards should have been swapped, if there was a new card, if they are just new channels then your card might not open them without being upgraded.
I don't know anything about these cards but I would assume that they can be upgraded over the air, once the company has been contacted.
I would advise you contact the dealer, who sold you the card, to see if he can supply you with more detailed information.

Just read a post, on another forum, stating that you can update the card in 3 ways:

1. Official site: 65 USD
2. ADM: 65 + 6 = 71 USD
3. Tech Digital: 65 + 18 = 83 USD

ADM and Tech Digital seem to be companies that offer the service to upgrade, at a price.

Subscribers from other countries can't even seem to access the official upgrade website, without using a proxy web address, so trying to upgrade officially might be very difficult.

I also bought an Aljazeera sport card this summer for the first time. When tried it out it didnt work.
I got the following message: 'Smart Card is extracted' and seconds later 'Card is invalid, please check the card'

Does anyone know what this means?

Maybe its already used or what could it be?

Extracted means to take out. My receiver says this when you take the card out. What receiver do you have, are you using the official CAM? Its always best to use the official CAM rather than the card slot on the receiver which does not officially support the encryption of the card.
