Default Could the analougue to digital migration accidently disable all tv broadcasting?

How easy would it be to stop all TV broadcating in the uk? I am not crazy I'm researching a book!

If you had the know-how, could cable, sattellite and terrestrial TV all be disabled?

It could but would need a concerted effort. Satellite is easiest, you could block the satellite uplink by transmitting to the same transponder.

Terrestrial TV is mostly distributed by Fibre, some is microwave linked and you could jam the microwave just the same as satellite. Cable is also mostly Fibre, but some channels are delivered by satellite.

You could always find and damage the Fibre links or blow up the TV Masts

I cant see any way of analogue-digital switch off disabling all tv broadcasting, although I can think of numerous ways terrorist style attacks could knock dozens if not most services off air.

Well, that's okay. I'm willing to suffer for my art! Give me a few cool ideas.

It's not going to happen accidentally, it would take a deliberate either malicious action or a hack as stated in post #2

No - discussing potential terrorist style attacks on any UK infrastructure is a spectacularly bad idea on a public forum. You might have a death wish but I dont!
