If you want to use both boxes at the same time:

Forget the satellite splitter. The lnb is an active component -there are 4 bands which the box changes between at he lnb by means of tones & voltages. Two receivers connected via a splitter interfere with each other.

If you want to use two boxes do the job properly and change the lnb. If that means hiring a cherrypicker or scaffolding so be it.

If you just will only ever want to use one box at a time:

Get an A/B switch and change it over when you want to use the second box.

You can watch two channels at the same time as long as they are BOTH on the same polarity (H/V) AND are the same hi/low band.

Basically you have a one in four chance of the two channels being on the same parameters.

Forgt the splitter - its not worth the hassle. Run two cables and you have complete control at all times on both boxes.
