Yes this will work, however.........
USB stick has to be formatted to fat 32, this means all file sizes must be under 4gb. I usually download my stuff in 720p , it comes as a mkv file, you then use a great free program called mkv2vob, make sure you check the box for file splitting if over 4gb. sounds like a lot of hassle, but once youve done it, its really easy. i dont use a usb stick , i use a 320gb usb harddrive, but its the same procedure. good luck

use PS3 media server install it on ya pc make sure you java console installed on pc aswell you will then get a new icon pop up in videos, music and pictures and u can now watch the movies on PS3 from yr pc in any format! also u can copy the movies from PC to PS3 and it dont matter what size the file is because the PS3 has no file limit size even though the harddrive is formated to FAT32.trust me its the best way!

The PS3 only recognises fat32 formatted drives which means splitting your video files.
I use PS3 media server and its very good (and very easy to setup), if you want to stream 1080p HD videos use a wired connection instead of wireless or your video may stutter. I personally went for the media server option because: You can watch your entire movie and music collection without having to transfer and encode files (which takes time). You can download more content while your watching via media server and it will just appear when its downloaded (as long as you download it to the correct folder). Hope this helps |
