Subscribers to satellite broadcaster BSkyB are being warned that they could be paying out for warranties that are useless, according BSkyB itself. It's funny you say that, I was aware of other scams involving Sky, but not this one!

Sky would say that they're useless,but it doesn't mean it's true. Sky jus don't like competition.

There is no reason a 3rd party can't offer this service legitimately, and for cheaper than Sky does it for.

I keep getting phone calls trying to sell me warranties. I tell them I work for Sky and to take me off the calling list, that stops the calls - for only about a Month

My tactic is to say that any further calls will be subject to a one-hundred pound service charge. Making a call is deemed to be acceptance of this condition.

So far I have not had cause to raise an invoice.

One tactic I've used for the warranty people is to say oh I'm very keen to subscribe to their service ----------- as long as it also covers my two other systems i.e. one motorised and one multi-LNB set-up. I really got them in a twist once with that one.
