Transfering Magic Files - Techwatch Support Forums: Digital & Satellite TV, FTA, Cable, Computers, Mobile Phones, Apple and General Tech Forums

Various friends and family are always asking me how to transfer magic files to there Dbox , This is also a FAQ. So i thought i'd write a quick guide.

Firstly you need:

The Magic files ( available in the download section )
FTP Client ( for this i will be using Flashfxp )

Step 1:

Unrar the magic files and you will be left with 2 folders:

var_bin_emu
var_keys

Open your ftp client and locate these folders and transfer files to the relevant locations:

First the cams

Now for the Keys

Once you have transfered you need to return to the folder var_bin_emu.

Right click on the files 1 at a time

Select attributes and change to 755

Once you have done this to both files get the remote control and press

Blue button
Extras Menu
Softcam selection menu

And make sure both the MgCamd & Evocamd are on.

After you have done this either transfer your existing service and bouquets files or do a fresh scan , Leave it on a subcription channel for a few minuites and all channels will be working.

Adding the magic files ????? or at least put them in the right folders ???? What are you doing ? Just ask if your unsure

thanks a lot mate had loads of trouble sorting this howevr the reason for the probs was all to do with the fact i had a pacino trilogy image on my box. i could not find wher to add the mgcamd. in the end i gave up on this . i flashed with commando 11.3 the rest was easily sorted using you follow through. box now working sweet. MAGIC FILES transferd succesfully
