Hey
I wonder if you guys can help me ? I'm thinking of buying a haxorware modem, but i want to know if you can run two modems together at the same address ? my brother has a flashed modem running 10mb i think his modem is scientific atlanta modem.. So my brother has all the virgin media cables in his room, so if i get a modem and coax cable and run it through a splitter will we come under any probelms ? like lag, slowdown or will they work just fine ? |

Yes, you can do it but it's complicated. You need two different MACs (one for each modem) and a program called Wingate. I had two - with 20MB MACs - running and I only got about 32MB down so not much difference really. Some people have managed to get around 43MB down with one modem!

Oh, I thought you meant on the same PC. You can connect as many modded modems as your signal allows to any number of PCs. The same rule applies though, each modem requires a different MAC so that it can sync and lock on to the network.

Great to hear thanks.. If one modem is downloading full speed will the other suffer tho ? or does it just depend on both the modem speeds and the line speeds ? He has 10mb and i will most likely be 10mb |

If your using haxorware you might be aswell using a 20meg mac for downloading and the subbed 10mb for browsing. If you read a few tuts then you should be fine but there is alot to get your your head around to start but good luck any how.In reply to downloading your always better to download at night has not to get capped.
