Hi
Bit stuck here, I had a friends 2110 stuck in standbye from last year which at the time couldnt be repaired as it wasnt the psu/caps fault on it. Found out from somewhere that it was the voltage regulator so did the repair and bingo booted up. Problem was/is although the box was only from about 15 miles up the road and sharing same freq and symb and provider but different netid. On booting up box would just alternate from ld30 to ld20 to ld30. Booted up whilst pressing the down button and eventually booted to AP52 and green light on so I know the repair has gone fine. Reset box to 09999 but for the life of me I cant set netid, have tried so many different things..... funs, atmegas different methods but its just not taking, have in the past set netid on 2110 no probs even ones that were different provider like tw onto mine excw. I know the bk and ird is correct cos Id done a funcard for the friend before and anyway the box had details written on from whoever he got box from and they were correct with the details off the fun. Anybody have any ideas on this or will I have to take the netid chip off, not used this method before so not sure what it involves and how to go about it. Would I have to purchase any hardware for this or could I do it with a willem 4.5. Read something about a 24****** programmer and a blank chip, I take it my usb phoenix is no good for this. Any help/input appreciated. Regards |

You can mod the Willem 4.5 by soldering wires from the chip's legs and then putting them in the IC socket. Chartman sells a 512/1024 programmer which you could use. You can blank the original chip to Fs or you could just program a new chip as you said.
