Default Need Help with First Flash

I have two 5100i modems -

one bricked the other has not been modified in anyway.

I would like to back up the firmware on the unmodified modem
and flash that to the bricked modem prior to instaling sigma to
the bricked modem.

I have a jtag and blackcat software build 134 and jtag utility 1.3.

As a complete noob to this, I would like to know if there is a particular way I have to connect the jtag to the modem board (is there a picture floating about)
And if there is a complete idiots guide to doing the flash/backup.

once your program detects the flash its on the right way.

you dont need to flash back to original, you just need to use a full 2mb dump.

sb5100mod will do it.

pm me your email address and i'll send you one in the morn if your struggling

First you have to solder the pin header on to the board. So you can connect the jtag I find it easier if you push the pins down flush on the back of the board before you solder.

thanx for that
I have read it is possible to just seat the pin header and flash
without soldering (I will give that a try first before purchasing an iron)

When the header is in place is there a particular way for the jtag to be
seated. ie. which male pin tho which female on the jtag.

I have tried that but you get too many errors and have to reflash again.
The red line on the jtag cable points to the back of the modem.
