6900HD & Firmware

hi everyone i know this may sound a little crazy, but i want to pick up freesat HD. I am just woundering if there is a need to download the letest firmware from Technomate. I had been using a diablo cam but that dosnt do anything really anymore. so i am just see what i can get for free.

this is only to the problems with the encryption get sorted out.

You should be able to get the BBC HD just by doing a scan, ITV HD can be received without new firmware by downloading a channel list with the channel already in it.

You could try downloading the latest TM6900 firmware if you wanted, they may have updated it, so that ITV HD scanns in automatically, the magic patch does. (or does on the TM6800 anyway)

The other night my Humax foxsat asked to do a scan to add or remove channels, I let it go and when it was done it had removed 3 channels and added none, so much for freesat. As for ITV HD it is only good for the European Champions League and some films, which have been shown over and over again and again, most of it only upscaled, not real HD at all. BBC HD does show more content and their picture quality is vastly superior to ITV's shows.

ITV will not show as ITV HD but will be a 5 digit number after you do a scan, can't remember what it is, but if you look trough all the numbered channels you will find it, when you do, go to edit channels and rename it for the future.
