Default scanning problems

Hi Folk's
I have been trawling this and other forums for help over the weekend but have found no help and I'm starting to go mental

I got the box super the one with the usb port.
when I plug it in and scan I do not receive any thing. I tried the box at a mates and was able to receive the regular terrestrial channels + sly news and 2/3 free to air free view channels.
I then used his virgin media box at mine and receive all the channels he subscribed to so there is a signal in my line. Also i get my internet through the same cable with no problems.
I have scanned on all options ie. TW, NTL, EX c&w, etc but do not receive a signal these scans were straight from the wall socket for cable.I have tried different software V1.02, 1.05, 1.10 but still no luck.
I live in NW London.
Please any ideas to help are greatly appreciated!!

cheers

I would personally use software V1.07 which will not brick your box, once all is scanned have you turned the key code on? menu & ignore the screen press 1 5 7 0 scroll down to keycode turn on exit to ssp 1 & wait for update.Hope this helps

Have you scanned it? if not switch on & in the language menu select english and auto scan, it should only take a few minutes but wait untill 100%, then exit untill your back to a tv picture, then press menu and ignore the screen just press 1 5 7 0 on the remote & this will take you to a secret menu & here you can scroll down to keycode and switch on then exit & go to ssp 1 wait for update all should be ok,

have you got all channels but can't view or no channels at all? if you follow the instructions from 50 pounds (2nd sticky in sv section) I can't see how you can go wrong,
